Composite video is an analog video signal in which the luma and chroma components are combined (by frequency multiplexing), along with sync and burst. It is also called CVBS. Most televisions and VCRs have composite video connectors, which are usually colored yellow and have only two wires. This is probably the oldest and simplest way to hook up a television and therefore also the way which provides poorest quality. S-Video or RGB cabling provide better quality.
