Overview

MediaPortal 2 should be able to manage removable media of various types (cd, dvd, bluray, usb drives, phones, sd cards) for various tasks and use case.

Feature

raw media like

• svcds / videoCDs
• dvds
• blurays
• audiocd

mixed media (copy only):

• CDs, DVDs, BluRays, USB-Drives, ....
• using standard file system
• containing files similar stored on HDD (*.avi, or images or MP3s), only copied to the media

read / get metadata from

• media and online resources
• movie infos
• tracklist by looking up discid at musicbrainz

allow hook from other plugins

• rip to hdd: audioCD, videoDVD
• copy to hdd: mp3, pictures, ...
• add media to library (without copying anything)

How to store and display information about removable media???

DVD > DiscID, medium title etc....

CD > DiscID
