Fullscreen TV does react on the stop button now
Written by chemelli, on 30-10-2008

Many people complained about the Stop button which is ignored while watching TV in fullscreen.

This behaviour has been on purpose to safe the timeshift buffer in case you press the Stop button on remote by accident (notice the Vista MCE remote's swapped Pause and Stop buttons).

The upcoming SVN build on friday is going to show you a new dialog (which can be confirmed by either the Stop or Play button) to quickly stop fullscreen live TV.

All skinners need to update their skin to include also a dialogPlayStop.xml in order to be compatible.

1. Always keep on timeshifting?
FWIW I think it would be good to be able to stop watching in the client but keep on timeshifting. Automatically. This is how I'd which it always was, because then one can always go "woha! Oprah started 10 minutes ago!" and just go to the tele and start watching from 10 minutes ago. If it's on the channel you previously were watching that is.

3. no dialog boxes on tv app
I'm not a fan of popping up warning dialogs on any app, especially a tv app, it kills the flow. If you press stop, then it should stop the TV, if you don't want this don't press it. Alternatively add a show warnings option to mp config and route this (and other warning dialogs) through it. SO we can disable/enable warnings en masse as preferred.

4. Please make this optional
I agree with HappyTalk, please have this configurable so I can choose if I want dialogboxes or not.

I have never had a PVR that ask if I really want to stop if I press the stop on the remote.
