The release of MediaPortal 1.0 was a very big milestone in our history.
But we did not rest since the release of it. As you can see in our changelogs and roadmaps (see "Status Overview" on the right side of the homepage), we have already fixed a lot of issues and did some useability improvements.
MediaPortal 1.0.1
This will be a maintenance release fixing issues with the 1.0 version and providing some useability enhancements.
We are currently also looking into the possibility of creating a "Patch" which will update your 1.0 installation to 1.0.1, without losing any config setting.
But please be aware, that because of the changes, it might be required that you update all of your community plugins and skins to a 1.0.1 version.
In February 2004 Erwin Beckers (aka. Frodo) left the X-Box Media Center project to start a new project, now known as MediaPortal, that would run on the Microsoft Windows platform and not suffer from the limitations of the X-Box hardware. Initially, existing code was reused from the XBMC-project but after several releases and innumerable feature enhancements there has been almost a complete redesign.
So, after a 5 year journey the Team MediaPortal is more than proud to announce the release of MediaPortal 1.0!
To bring a little bit Christmas spirit into your living rooms, we have a nice small supprise for you. The Christmas add ons for default Blue3 and Blue3wide skins.
There are two add on packages available for download.
One for the Blue3 4:3 skin and one for the Blue3wide 16:9 skin.
Today we are proud to announce the release of MediaPortal 1.0 RC4.
So what's the current development progress ?
The development of MediaPortal 1.0 is going extremely well and the latest svn revision is working very nicely.
The wide version of our new default skin named Blue3 is nearly finished and only needs some final polishing to which everyone
can contribute by testing it.
As a result this release candidate will closely represent the final version of MediaPortal 1.0.
