Nice... But MAKE SURE YOU ADD FULL SUPPORT FOR HD (HD DVD/BLURAY/ EVERTHING HD)..
Without that Mediaportal 2 is just media portal 1 with new look.

while I agree that having HD support would be super cool and one of the features I'd love to have in either version, I for one understand just how difficult that would be to pull off. HDDVD is locked down pretty hard with HDCP. I don't think it's feasible at this time to simply "include it" in either release. Also, it's a gross mis-statement to say that MPII is MP with a new look. Read the original article again... they're building a whole new foundation which is more open and receptive to API hooks to allow for a richer array of plugins plus even better networkable support. I CAN'T WAIT! :)

2. Dreaming in reality

Do some research on what it takes to support BD and HD DVD formats due to DRM and you will quickly learn it's damn near impossible without paying fees for licenses thru the nose, and only if MP were to be sitting on Vista. Personally, providing a means to start a third party HD app(one that actually works for all media, to date there is none)in fullscreen would be enough. If you want bluray and hd support, sadly the best thing to do is stop buying them and send a letter to all who control this saying you wont buy more til the DRM crusade against consumers stops.
