thank you all, you put an incredible amount of work in for little/no reward, and it really is appreciated. A brave decision, but the correct one to move forward with, I personally can't wait. And for whoever mentioned it, there's really no need for any cross platfrom support in the current climate of virtual environments...

1. Crossplatform yea but later
I disagree because of current state of virtualization is not able to provide full featured hardware virtualized like TV tuner cards. Another approach could be use crossplatform libraries (like Open GL instead of DirectX, etc) but this is something that could be postponed to MP-III. IMO the right way to move on is the pointed by the announce if this includes features like full multimedia server (TV, video, photos, logos, etc), transcoding capabilities to be able to serve media to different devices based on devices capabilities/bandwidth and single DB (just metadata) to manage any media content
