Fantastic work guys! This is great news for us Down under, you mention we require TVServer at the moment - will HE-AAC support be built into mediaportal standalone also?

NO! The recording format (DVR-MS) in the MediaPortal engine does not support H.264 or AAC streams. TVServer is the future.
