1. Anyone find a solution in XP MP RC2?
Anyone figure this out in XP? I think it must be a bug in MP RC2 in XP as I never saw it before installing this. I upped the merit of xvid over divx, but this resulted in terrible quality for some avi files. I also tried enabling EVR as described, installing .NET3 and SP3 in turn, but I only get a black screen with sound (any ideas on tweaking that?)

I appreciate any thoughts from anyone else who's going through this. The wife is getting exasperated by this problem.

1. EVR is for Vista only
As per the title, my undertanding is that EVR works for Vista only (and that using EVR in Vista is the only way to get hardware acceleration)

I've tried all this, too. I've found that I DO get video enabling EVR in Windows XP SP3, but only if I install .NET Framework 3.5 as well as 3.0. The problem is, this still gives a blank screen when playing my DVDs (which are VOBs).

I've tried everything, and the only solution that works (without having terrible xvid refresh problem quality on some avis) is to downgrade to RC1.
