NT Service that daily downloads the lasteste EPG Guide for Denmark,Sweden and Norway. A total update of a fresh TvGuide takes astonishing 10secs....

The guide is produced in the popular XMLTV format and works great along with the XMLTV Plugin for the TvServer. It's preferable to use it with Laban's version of the XMLTV plugin, as you very rapidly and easy are able to mapped the Channels between the tvserver and xml file.

Laban's version is part of the lateste TvServer SVN or you can download it from laban's forum thread: XMLTV2 Plugin

Configuration

It very simple to setup. During the installation a small dialog presents itself, where it's possible to change the default configuration of the service.

Note. When XMLTv is used as EPG source in the TvServer it's a good idea to stop the internal DVB EPG Grabber.. to avoid losing EPG information. At least I have had some weird experiences.

Post Processing

 

It's now possible to place a XSLT script in the download folder to modify the XML TvGuide on each download. This can be used to merge channels or to change id's etc.. The xslt must be called PostProcess.xslt to get executed.

The installation now comes with some predefined XSLT script to merge channels. During the installtion process it possible to choose a predefined filter. At the moment the following filters exists:

1) NRK3 and NRK Super Merge
2) Comhem Barnkanalan and Kundskabs kanalen.
3) TV2 Denmark region information

Extra Feature - (Automatic download of TV icons)

I have added an small extra program to the bundle, that downloads and automaticly mappes the Tv Icon's described in the TvGuide.xml to the TeamMediaPortal format. To use it go the Mediaportal folder under the StartMenu and click on the Icon Downloader shortcut.

Besides from the default icon style it possible to choose between 4 different icon styles.

The program should be used after mapping the XMLTV Tv programs to the TvServer programs, because the Icon Downloader uses the mapping to create the icon names. More details can be found in the forum thread.

• 2.3 - More default scripts added, and now it possible to choose a default script during setup.
