"MediaPortal Standby Tool" is a system tray application to solve initialization problems with TV cards and the old TV engine after resuming from standby. It closes MediaPortal before your system goes into standby power state. It checks MediaPortal's database for any scheduled TV recordings and will wake up the system and restart MediaPortal to execute a planned recording task.

INSTALLATION:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Copy file "MediaPortalStandbyTool.exe" to folder where "MediaPortal.exe" is located.
2) Create a shortcut to "MediaPortalStandyTool" on your desktop.
3) In MediaPortal you have to enable the "PowerScheduler" plugin.
4) Configure it to bring your system into standby after idle timeout expired.
5) Set an idle timeout in "PowerScheduler" which is higher than your additional recording time.
That's it.

It is only tested under Windows XP. There is no guarantee that it supports Windows Vista.

from geichel - The restart option is available in MP since 20/12/2007. If you use latest stable 0.2.3.0 release there is no such option. I had issues with my WinTV-NOVA-T-500 after resuming from standby like other people using this card. So I created this tool :) It solved my issues using the old TV engine so I hope it is useful for others, too.

from regeszter - The MP can restart himself after wake up from standby. What is the advance this tool?
