MPInstaller

The MPinstaller was developed to help you install plugins, skins and other add-ons for MediaPortal.

Suppose you want the logos of your country's TV-channels, or a new game or want to sing along to your favorite tune. A lot of people have made plugins to give MediaPortal extra functionality.

Installing Plugins

How to install a plugin

  1. Download the MPI-Package from MediaPortal homepage. (see link above)

  2. Close MediaPortal and MediaPortal configuration if those are currently running.

  3. Just open the MPI-Package by double clicking on the file and follow the instructions.
  4. Done.

How to update a plugin

  • You downloaded a new version of the plugin, but an old one is already installed?
  • Close MediaPortal and MediaPortal configuration if those are currently running.

  • Just open the new MPI-Package by double clicking on the file.
  • If you are asked to reinstall the plugin, because it is already installed, press yes and follow the instructions.

How to uninstall a plugin

  1. Close MediaPortal and MediaPortal configuration if those are currently running.

  2. Start MediaPortal extension Manager.

    • StartMenu\Programs\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal Plugins-Skins Installer

  3. Click on Extension Manager, search the plugin in the list and click on uninstall.

  • Uninstall

    • Pressing this button will allow you to uninstall your plugins.
  • Update

    • Will update your plugin.
  • Reinstall

    • Will reinstall your plugin, and will remove all the settings of the plguin and start with the default ones.
  • Download & Install

    • Instead of downloading a plugin manually in your browser, you can use the MPinstaller to automatically download and install plugins
  • Load online list

    • Downloads the list of available plugins
  • Filter

    • Lets you filter the list of plugins you see on your screen to search for specific plugins.
  • View

    • Changes the view of the list of plugins
  • Close

    • Close, closes the MPinstaller window
