MediaPortal offers a high skinable interface to users interested in personalizing their media center. Everyone has their own preference: clean and simple, more colorful or with tons of fanart. Here we present you with just some of the most common skins, but check our downloads and skin forums for all the latest releases. Keep in mind some skins may require a current SVN-snapshot build to work properly. You can find these builds here.
Monochrome - for those who like dark skins
Monochrome, and its companion version Indigo (blue version) has been one of the top skins of MediaPortal since 2007. Its clean, sharp design, minimalistic yet elegant style, and top notch performance continue to make it a favorite today. It is designed for 1366x768 screen resolution, supports a vast array of plugins and provides a new customizable BasicHome screen with animated sub menus.

PureVisionHD
PureVisionHD is a widescreen skin (16:9) with a resolution of 1366x768, scaling without losses on FullHD screens as well. The skin has no unnecessary animations or gimmicks. It was designed for a *fast* access of all MP functions, has a clearly readable GUI (with respect to barrier-free user interfaces) but still offers an interesting and elegant theme. It fully supports all standard plugins of MediaPortal 1.1.0 Final and about 60(!) of the most popular plugins. PureVisionHD offers two different menu styles: the "classic" one with vertical text-based menus and a "horizontal" style with icon-based menus. These menu styles can easily be changed from within MediaPortal GUI (if plugin "Extensions" is installed). Due to its fanart-based layout, PureVisionHD offers best visibility of fanart backdrops not covered by extremely dark menu backgrounds though offering all necessary information.

StreamedMP
Streamed MP is a port of Team Razorfishes skin Mediastream created for XBMC, over to the popular open source HTPC Application MediaPortal. Streamed MP is a close port, however there are some new views/layouts included with the skin that will keep the fanart fans happy. This skin has also been designed with ease of use in mind, with a custom menu generator included to make creating menus suited to your setup extremely easy. All of this is wrapped up in a nice installer that also installs the latest version of two very popular plugins TV Series (currently being worked on by various developers) and Moving Pictures (worked on by fforde and armandp).

Xface
Xface has long been one of the most popular skins for MediaPortal. It was one of the first skins to offer a sleek, classy look and smooth interface. The design has been improved even more, using all the new skin features for MediaPortal 1.1.0. The NowPlayingScreen sports a new style with fully working analog VU Meters. The new installer lets you customize the skin to your own needs: EPG with 11 or 9 rows, BasicHome screen options, Topbar with or without shortcut icons; weather on Home and BasicHome screens (using the InfoService plugin), and much more.

X-Factor
The concept of this very polished skin is to make all options in MediaPortal available as easy as possible and this in an attractive way. The skin tries to keep good balance between the use of fanart and usability. There is an advanced built in menu editor that can be used from within MP Configuration to customize your basichome menu. X-Factor was originally based/built upon the great skin files from StreamedMP and is developed for 1280x720 resolution but thanks to the MediaPortal software it scales beautifully up to 1920x1080. The skin has a very wide community plugin support and an active and dynamic support forum including some community mods.
