Announcement: MediaPortal svn installer

Starting with the next build on Friday, the 4th April, we will use a new much improved installer script for the nightly svn snapshots. There were heavy changes for the installation routine so that there might still be some issues.

Keep in mind these builds are for testing purposes only and can cause much troubles, so DON'T use if stability is important for you.

The backup feature of the svn installer is rewritten, too. It should also work with Vista machines, now. But please backup you installation directory, the config files and databases by hand before using the installer.

Like always testing is much apreciated, bug reports and improvement suggestions are welcome, but don't moan if it is not working 100%, yet. ;)

Is there a change of the installer of the tvserver too? Ive got some problems, when I start the configuration, tv server said that he cant create a database, the connection before is ok and the user is admin/saqladmin :|

I love all the things you guys do but why don't you put more options in the downloader ?

whit different levels of stability to pick from.

1.Developer Version
(unstable, for alfa testers)
2.Preview Version
(mostly stable, for beta testers)
3.RC Version
(reasonable stable, for people that wants the latest but still whit some stabilety)
4.Release Version
(stable, for people that wane run bug free)
