MediaPortal 0.2 RC2
on 18-12-2005

Finally after too much time waiting we can present to you the

 Release Candidate 2 of MediaPortal.

The focus of RC 2 was/is stability, so you wont see much new functionality in this release candidate when comparing it to RC 1.

We do hope you will notice that its a lot more stable though.

Note:

MediaPortal now runs under .NET 2.0.  If you didnt install the .NET 2.0 runtime yet then download & install it.  Do NOT uninstall .NET 1.1.

Download MediaPortal 0.2 RC2

Great Work!

Do I have to uninstall RC1 before installing RC2?
Can I put the latest CVS over RC2 or are they only for RC1?

Thanks to all the developers - you're doing a great job!

Hi,

Great job!
But there are a few things that don't work anymore, that did function in the CVS of 16-12. One of the things is the 'lookup' function in the TV section. I get an error from that which askes me to close or to continue.
Another thing is...my TV-card stopped working (AverTV PVR150 MCE). All settings are correct, but no visuals and sound. Neither for My Radio. I checked the TV/FM card in another computer with WinDVR 3 and it works fine!

That's all :) Love your product!

Well, posting the corrected entry here didn't work - the XML seems to get interpreted and cut out... I posted the entry to the forums. Here's the link:

Might be best if you guys stick to the forums for posting problems, as you'll have more luck with getting discovered there.

Great, but with my hauppauge pvr 150 it isn't working anymore right now...
When I try to watch TV, you can see and hear the channel, but then the program freezes.

Great Job, but i do not understand 1 thing - Why Do you have to both install .NET 1.1 AND .NET 2.0. I removed all.NET and installed only .NET 2.0 but then mediaportal won't start. Why do i have to install both?

Fantastic, great work and thanks to the MP team - its been worth the wait.

Marked improvement in stability, faster channel change and recording and despite frodo's release comments the new/changed functional improvements over 0.1.3 just continue to improve on a great package.

Hello. I appreciate your MP. They are months that I follow to you, but I ask myself why I would have to use it? Mine skystar2 has not never worked with it. Not one frame, in nobody MP release. I use progdvb and then launch and control it with firefly (media software +remote wireless at low cost). Your software is free but it doesn' t seems to work well. When it will work? I prefer to pay the just price but to have a service. Hello.Good luck.

Nice work eventhough I quickly had to change back to RC1. Not much are working in RC2. Not even the TV-schedule-overview.
Could be a consequence of me running widescreen mode?
/Toby
