The biggest swiss PC magazine "Online PC Zeitung" has tested 6 mediacenter applications in their June 2006 edition.
MediaPortal had to compete with Sceneo TV Central, Nero Premium, Showshifter, Cyberlink Power Cinema and Intervideo Home Theater Platinum and has left them all behind in almost all categories.
Best thing is: The magazine tested version 0.2 RC2, so they have missed the best fixes in stability and many other enhancements.

MediaPortal achieved the following ranking in the various categories:

38 out of 45 points in features and usability (1st position)
28 out of 30 points in compatibility (1st position)
3 out of 10 points in installation, configuration and support (3rd position)
15 out of 15 points in stability and licencing (1st position)

Keep up the good work!

But where in the test are BeyondTV, SageTV and ofcource Microsoft's Media Center Edition?
Those three are much more serious competition.
Not as good as MediaPortal ofcourse.
Except for the client-server stuff.
If you developers start on a client/server solution in MediaPortal: please consider Orb- and SlingBox-like features so you can stream over the internet.
The combined functionality would wipe out ALL the competition.

We know Media Portal is the best, but comparisons to Meedio, SageTV, BeyondTV and MCE is missing, only those can be compared to Media Portal....

Congrats and a hardy round of applause to the team! Its about time you folks got the regocnition you deserve.

I lost my cable access because the landlord is trying to save money. So I reinstalled the HDTV Wonder alongside the other two cards I already had in here (AIW 2006 & TV-Wonder Pro) and MP picked it right up no problem! I was totaly amazed!
Loves you guys man (sniffle sniffle) :-)
