Re-Design MyTV - get involved

Recently the Team MediaPortal has been talking internaly about the current design of TV-Servers MyTV Client Plugin.

Now we would like to ask YOU what you think about how it should work, look and feel. Therefor we have created a new sub-forum where you can start a thread for your proposal. Click here for further details if you want to actively contribute to MediaPortal and help us to improve it. We are waiting anxious for your mindblowing concept designs!

1. Composite and Svideo recording

I have been hunting for a Set Top Box plug-in. I have a Dish Network sat. receiver that is plugged into my pc. I would LOVE to be able to:
A) Record from the Composite or S-video in lines.
B) Have it kick off the recording when MP is not running.
C) Have it run in the background.
And D) Actually schedule those times off a tv listing.

If this is available now, I have missed it (and tell me where to find it!)

2. Stop it.

I say stop the focus on TV dvr, Most U.S. customers probably have Dish/DirecTV and the TV feature is useless, I use MP for everything but TV, my Dish HD DVR does my recording for me as it does for probably anyone else Sat. or cable DVR. I tried the DVR feature when i had cable using a hauppage 150, no big deal compared to what Dish HD DVR provides.
What would be useful is disc changer support-xl1b3-able to start on Secondary monitor/TV, improve the playlist feature of Music and favourite playlists-when you delete a song from favourites its there the next time same playlist loads etc.Thanks

3. Switching channels

Switching channels when in full screen should not pop up a big list, instead it could be a bottom screen bar about 150-200 pixels tall displaying the TV logo and with small text the channel's name below and the user should be able to switch left and right like a horizontal scroll bar... this way he/she still views the channel playing while trying to decide where to switch to.
Also when clicking on "channels" from the main MyTV view again it should not block the view of the current channel playing and give emphasis on the TV logos again. A logo is much easier recognisable than a text.

4. suggested improvements

hi-def upscaling of tv during playback.
smoother playback of tv during timeshifting
direct recording into divx / xvid with better quality
include webtv channels / searching, etc
availability to utilize 2 cores to enable smoother operation
reduce program footprint so cpu usage falls
for some reason tv playback keep decoding tv using the cpu, why cant it use my graphics card?
better network integration
use mobile based browser instead of desktop/laptop based browser - using something like opera that is design for use with a 10 button keypad might be better
