I don not belive you need a 2.8 GHz... not if you have a AMD64 rig, annyway, as these are more efficient per MHz

They are usualy not faster than 2.8GHz... only the FX and som Opterons are...

Hence my commet 'most'. A 2.8GHz P4 was tested and produced acceptable results - anyhting below that was unacceptable. I didn't say they were clocked faster now did I. Since you have confirmed that 'most' AMD 64's are faster :) then you should get away with a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ or better. But let the processor do the talking...
