Technotrend Common Interface
Written by DMAN, on 01-03-2006

One of our new developers Mosquiss has enabled the possibility to use the CI module for selected TechnoTrend cards which use their BDA drivers.

Examples:- TT-budget T-1500, TT-budget C-1500 & TT-budget S-1500

We would like to thank TechnoTrend for their support in making this possible.

TechnoTrend provided us with some cards & CI Modules, their BDA SDK plus some of their development teams time to answer some of our questions and make their cards more flexible for your HTPC systems.

I must say the CI module has fantastic CAM compatibility and works really well.

Hopefully this relationship between both parties will continue in the future to bring enhanced functionality to the HTPC community using MediaPortal.

That's good news, but if you have a direct line to these guys; Could you perhaps make an inquery as to how to get their "high-end" cards to work, or if they would supply the BDA sourcecode, so it could be adapted; I've had a c-2300 with mpeg2 in hardware for ages now and it has never worked ! - I've written their support teams a gazzilion times (as have many others if you read the forums) And I have yet to get a reply. For the last 3-4 months the card has gathered dust, and my FloppyDTV has been doing the hard work. Lucky for me, that card just works. (Did mean bumping the CPU up a notch aswell for HD).

Heres hoping. -Jens

Does it also work for two combinations (I mean: 2 x S-1500, each with its own CI-module.) Is dual decrypting possible?
