TV-Server Tutorial Videos
on 06-01-2007

As an addition to our TV-Server guide/documentation in the wiki, i have created several Tutorial Videos.

This videos will show you:

  • which setups you can create with the TV-Server
  • which software you need
  • how you install the TV-Server and the required software
  • how you configure the TV-Server
  • and how you install and configure the MediaPortal Client(s)

I hope that they will help some members to get their TV-Server and Client installation done.

The Videos are available ::here::

  • as download in 1024x768 (divx 6.4 avi)
  • or as stream in 800x600 (divx 6.4 streamplayer on webpage).

But please do not forget the documentation in the wiki, where you will find other informations than the basics too! ::here::

Just in case that anyone else wants to do a tutorial video too (and i hope so!)

The videos were created with:

  • hypercam: capture videos of the Windows Desktop ::link::
  • Adobe Premiere: cutting/editing videos ::link::
  • DivX 6.4 pro: encoding of final videos ::link::

If anyone has questions about how to do such a video (or wants to help to create new videos), send me a pm in the forums or start a thread ::here::

regards
chris (infinityloop)

Nice addition to MP. Two small remarks: The klikking sound during the installation is really anoying. And the voice volume is to low, i need to put my speakers to the max to hear it well.

Very nice work !

The sound level is good here, sounds normal. The clicking sounds dont bug me either :-)
But perhaps there could be some more instructions on the channel tune issue. Personally i use a DVB-C tuner card, and it's quite diffrent than than the DVB-S card in the video.
Just a suggestion.

7. Not working on lan client-s
I tried everything - read all tutorials, watch your nice tutorial videos(nice job, sound too quiet:) but TV server is not working on any of my lan clients - it is working on server computer's MediaPortal. I can connect to server with MyTV plugin but that is all - I cannot see any chanel, cannot see any recorded videos, cannot see any stream. HELP.
