Overview
List of the 'proposed' new features or rework for v 6.1.0 - additional sub pages may be added for description of major new features/reworks.
From code, currently "hidden" to normal mode
MyFilms Setup:
GUI Elements:
(This is all setup GUI elements switched to invisible - see comments about it.)
this.SearchSubDirsTrailer.Visible = false; // Disable Trailer options, that are not yet implemented
-> do we need that one? Should we include it into trailer rework?
Doesn't it already search sub folders or the Extended Trailer Search path?
Hmmm, but at least the check box to enable/disable seems to be disabled / invisible in normal mode ... so is this a bug/mistake?
*No clue
Ok, as you obviously not willing to spend time on this topic, I did and tested !
The setting is set to DISABLED by default - and invisible to the user. So user can define a search path, but NOT enable MyFilms to search in the subdirectories (default only root directories) of that path.
I call this a bug - will create issue and enable it for normal mode.
If noone wants to test or noone uses it, I don't care - but ast least it is then consistant with the feature being available.
You can then delete this here after reading. *
Not fair - my problem is that in my tests MF DOES add trailers from sub-folders - Example:
*Extended Trailer Search path: M:\My Videos\Trailers*
Trailers for 'Howl':
- M:\My Videos\Trailers\YouTube\'Howl' Trailer HD.mp4
- M:\My Videos\Trailers\iTunes Movie Trailers\Howl - Trailer.mov
Both are found and registered when I search for trailers in 6.0 in normal mode and I can play them back in MF, so I think I don't understand the issue?
If I can understand the actual issue I think we should add to Tracker!
As I have written above, I already added it to tracker and fixed it. However, I will add additional info to tooltip, as it is not clear:
_*The option works only on the global registration of trailers!
If you register trailers for a single movie, the path and subdirs are always searched (as you stated).
The reason for that is simple: If you do a global registration, it might require to search many directories and areas for each movie - might be 1000+ - thus that option allows much faster global run in such cases.*_
_*However, I am fine to modify or completely remove that option - but as discussed above, in the past, user could NOT enable that option - thus never do a global trailer registration including the subdirs on the trailer search path(es).
So pladv if further modifications should be done.*_
