Question
How do I get My Films to display my custom disc#s to tell me which disc my film is stored on when I try to play it in My Films?
Background
If you have many films on DVDs and Blu-ray discs, or store multiple films on DVDs you can add your own custom disc numbers or IDs in your movie catalog. MyFilms can display your custom disc ID for you when you try to play a film so you know where to find it.
Answer
You may add your custom disc ID to any field you wish in your movie catalog database. For example, in Ant Movie Catalog, the Media Label field is designed for this purpose. In My Films Setup > General Tab > Offline Media Identification, select the field you wish to use (e.g. Media Label) for this purpose. You can also add a label, such as 'Disc#:" or "Binder" if you wish.
Note: As of v 6.0.0, when you import DVDs or Blu-rays, you can enable Try to read DVD Disk label, Volume name or UNC server name in AMC Updater > Database Fields Tab > Media Label Field Handling.
