Can I create an index of CDs, DVDS, Blu-rays (BDs) so I know where I have stored them?
Background
If you catalog your CDs, DVDs, BDs etc. e.g. in binders where you number the binder and each sleeve or envelope in the binder, you can set up My Films to tell you where the disc is stored when you try to play a film.
For example, you may catalog your discs as CD1-001
- CD = the type of media
- 1 = the first CD Binder
- 001 = the first 'sleeve' or 'envelope' in that binder
Answer
If you have cataloged your physical media in a system such as above, My Films can tell you where you stored the media when you try to play a film.
- in your AMC DB, enter the catalog or index number you use (e.g. 'CD1-001' in the Media Label field for each film (or whatever field you wish)
- in My Films setup on the General Tab at the bottom, under Ant Identification Item, select Media Label (or whatever field you use for your index/catalog numbers)
- You can add a 'label' to display in MyFilms when you try to play the film on that DVD (e.g. Cat ID, or Index #, etc.)
Then in MyFilms you can:
- view your films by Media Label (or whatever field you use) if you wish to display films by your index or catalog numbers.
- search by any field and find the index or catalog number for that disc
- Customize display to display the field you use for your catalog numbers either in the Main or Details window.
