Question
I created a new config, and pointed to my movies folder(s) but why don't all my movies get imported or display in MyFilms?
Background
Usually this occurs when you select a Translated Title field as your main (master) title, but do not have Translated Titles in every record in your database. This occurs most often when converting a database that was not created in MyFilms or a supported catalog type.
Answer
The easiest solution is to select Original Title as your master title until you update your database and add Translated Titles using one of the following methods:
- Choose a grabber that will add Translated Titles for every movie. For example some websites/grabbers use the Translated Title as the main title and Original Title in a separate Original Title field.
- Grab more AKA titles when using English grabbers like IMDB-Full - select one or more country codes for your preferred languages/countries under Grabber override options on the Updates Tab in MyFilms Setup.
- Add the Original Title to the Translated Title field when Translated Title is empty by either:
- Modifying and saving a custom grabber where you map the Original Title to Translated Title using the Merge (destination preferred) option so you do not overwrite any existing Translated Titles (if you have any) or the Replace option if your database does not have any Translated Titles (see Grabber Scripts Editor for details)
- Use AMCUpdater > Update Movies Tab to batch update all the movies where parameter= 'Translated Title NOT EXISTS' and copy the Original Title to the Translated Title field. Disable internet lookup for this operation!
Note: When using AMC Updater> Update movies to batch update your database, you can also choose to add data to additional fields. However in this case you will need to perform an internet lookup on all the records you wish to update.
