Overview
Select or change how long information on the currently watched item displays on the TV On-Screen Display or the Video On-Screen Display.
On-Screen Display Settings
You may also configure these settings using the MediaPortal Configuration Tool, see On-Screen Display.
On-Screen Display
- Display timeout (sec.) - Default: 0
The time after which the OSD should automatically disappear. A value of 0 means the OSD has to be turned off manually.
Zap On-Screen Display
To speed up channel-surfing, MediaPortal offers a Zap OSD, which displays information about the channel you are about to "zap" to, before actually changing the channel. You can keep on "zapping", or wait a few seconds and change to the selected channel.
- Zap delay (sec.) - Default: 2
This is how long the zap OSD waits after you select a channel using the channel up/down buttons, before actually changing to that channel. This allows you to read the description and optionally continue zapping to another channel. - Zap timeout (sec.) - Default: 5
The time between actually changing the channel, and the hiding of the zap OSD. - Zap key timeout (sec.) - Default: 1
This is how long the zap OSD waits after you select a channel using numeric digits, before actually changing to that channel.
For further information about all of these settings, refer to On-Screen Display in the Configuration Tools section.
