PiP functionality

PiP (Picture in Picture) works with basically all media types. This means, that you can watch / listen to two media sources (audio, video, TV) at once, while one is shown in full screen (primary player) and the other is shown in a small PiP window (secondary player). In case of TV this means, that you can watch 2 channels at once (e.g. so as not to miss when a program restarts after advertisement).

When does PiP for TV work?

  • PiP mode needs to be activated with the small PiP button first, otherwise starting a second channel will stop playing the current channel
  • The PiP mode button is only existing in some EPG's (see previous chapter) and is only visible, if one TV channel is already playing
  • PiP for TV only works, if you have multiple tuners, IPTV sources etc. Generally 1 tuner can play only 1 channel at once!

PiP Button (off / on)

TV PiP examples with controls

You can switch between the players by selecting the focusable PiP window (remote/mouse/keyboard) or just the the "Red" button (or the button mapped to it) on your remote. To watch the primary player, while listening to the audio of the secondary player, enable (unmute) audio with the mute button on the secondry, audio from the primary player will be automatically muted.
