Purpose

  • Category: Configuration
  • Type of Change:  Feature

Description of Change

DirectShow Filters Properties Page

MediaPortal 1.3.0 Alpha introduces the screwdriver button. With this option you can directly access the DirectShow Filter Properties Page of the selected Codec / Splitter and/or Renderer.

Simply click the screwdriver button next to the filter of your choice, and the Properties Page will open.

If you want to use/force a source splitter or splitter of your choice, we have to check "Source Splitter Selection" and MP will add the splitter in directshow Graph without this option, MP will ask Directshow to add a Splitter (This one will be added by the Higher Merit value)

MediaPortal Audio Renderer

As of 1.3.0 Alpha, MediaPortal has it's own Audio Renderer, the MediaPortal Audio Renderer (MPAR) (see link for a general description). This Audio Renderer combats video playback related issues that almost all (without ReClock) Windows-based media players suffer from. It also provides WASAPI exclusive mode access to audio HW so the OS mixer is not part of the audio pipeline.

Now you may select the MediaPortal Audio Render in Configuration > Codecs and Renderer > Audio Renderer on the Video, Blu-ray, TV & DVD Codecs tabs.

Note: MPAR is NOT selected by default.

Click on the screwdriver symbol next to MediaPortal - Audio Renderer to access the  Audio Renderer options:

Note: With MediaPortal 1.3.0 Alpha, you must first select MPAR, then play a video to make the configuration options available. First playback writes the settings into the registry, before that you won't get access to the settings of MPAR.
