I am missing some channels after scanning my Freeview transmitter, why are these channels missing?

Background

Sometimes tuning details are updated and channels move (eg. currently details are being updated to move channels to free frequencies for the 4g phone network) and the tuning details in MediaPortal therefore may be out of date.

Answer

First thing to check is that there is not a problem with your aerial.   Can the missing channels be picked up on another TV?

Assuming so you should try a new scan but rather than choosing your transmitter you should choose the UK - All Regions option which will take longer but will scan all potential Freeview frequencies and should therefore pick up any moved channels.

If tuning details need updating the update should be posted in the forums.
