Overview

Here we want to give a small overview, how to set up MPDisplay++.


Configuration of MPDisplay++

Plugin Configuration


IPAddress:
This can be localhost, or any other IP Address (local network or via Internet). Localhost for HTPC's were MP and MPD++ are installed on the same machine and any other IP Address if you have installed the MPDisplay Server on another PC in your local Network or somwhere in the Internet.

Port:
The Port that is used for MPDisplay. Be aware that this is the only port you use on your local PC or within your Network. If you want to connect over the Internet, be also aware to set up your Firewall/Router correctly.

Test Connection:
With this Button you can test the connection between the Plugin and the MPDisplay Server.

Start/Stop Server:
Here you can stop/start your MPD Server is you encounter any problems with this service.

Settings:
Here you can choose what MPD++ should do when MediaPortal Starts/ends.

Manual/Automatic:
Sets the Servcie to start automatically or manually (may be needed if you install MPDisplay++ on a second machine where the server is not needed)



MPDisplay Configuration

Start/Stop Server:
Here you can stop/start your MPD Server is you encounter any problems with this service.

Connection Name:
If you want to use more than one "secondary" Display to show informations of the PC were you have installed the Server Component, there has to be a unique name for each MPDisplay program you are running.

User Interaction Delay:
This is the time in seconds MPDisplay will stay in Menu, if you e.g. are playing Music and scrolling through the music folders to search for the next title you want to play.


Display

Available Displays:
Here you can set which Display should be used for MPD++.

DesktopMode:
If turned on, you will have no Frame around the MPDisplay Window.

Custom Resolution:
You can choose between Automatic and Custom Resolution. Custom Resolution should be used if you don't want to display MPD++ on the whole Display.


Other

Process Priority:
Set the Priority of MPDisplay++ Process.

Restart on Error:
If MPD should crash, it will start automatically after the time you set up under Resume Delay.

Resume Delay:
Sets the time until MPD++ will start again after a crash.

Enable System Info:
If you want to use MPDisplay++ to stay allways on the second screen (you have to do this coding by yourself for the look of the scrren that should show up - see SkinDoc how to do this) there are several MPD++ Tags to display CPU, RAM and some more SystemInfo's).
Log Level:
If everything runs fine you can set this to None - if you encounter any errors you should set this to verbose. The Log files can be found under: C:\ProgramData\MPDisplay++\Logs


Skin Settings Configuration


Skin:
Choose wich Skin do you want to use or click on the Pencil on the right and make your own Skin.

Style:
In Titan Skin there are two Styles that can be used. Default and Blue - like in MediaPortal itself...

Language:
Chosse the Language you want to use. If your language is not listed or not completely correct, feel free to edit the xml- file you find here: C:\ProgramData\MPDisplay++\Language
Would be nice if you could share it with us. (smile)

Cursor:
Should be set to none if you use a second screen. The cursor will only be invisible on the screen where MPD++ is running.

Skin Options:
In Titan Skin there are two Optionsfor the BasicHome Menu. Default Menu Layout or Extended Menu - also, like in MediaPortal itself...

Text Scrolling:
Here you can set if you wish to enable text scrolling in general. Otherwise the settings in the window xml- files will be used.


AddImage Settings


You can use this Setting if you need gfx- folders outside MPDisplay++ images folder. In this case there are all possible ClearArt folders outside MPDisplay. You may use this function also for own fanarts, etc.)

You may use a self defined Tag also more than one time if your gfx- files are in different folders (in Standard settings all folders of MePo- Tools and DVDArt are set).


MPDisplay SkinTag:
Define a Skin Tag you want to use in MPD++

Property String:
This is the MediaPortal Tag you need to display the correct gfx- file

Path:
This is the Path to the MediaPortal thumbs directory (if you only have the Standard folder: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs    you can use the Tag #MPThumbsPath#)
