Manually match films when they cannot be auto matched.
Manual Matching Dialog
Manual Matching allows you to manually choose the correct movie from results given by the internet data grabber when it cannot automatically match the movie, because there are several movies with the same name, perhaps in the same year. Manual matching offers options to repeat your search with different parameters and options, lookup internet sites and rename the media directory and/or filename.
If you select either 'Auto match & ask if no match' (default) or 'Manual match (always ask)' on the Import Movies tab, the Manual Matching Dialog will display if:
- there was no result found
- too many results were found
- the matching was not good enough
If results are found, you will get the following info displayed:
- Title - the movie title
- Year - the year, if it was found by the grabber
- Options: depending on the grabber script, additional info is displayed, like the movie type (TV, Short, etc.). This info is used for better matching inside the grabber engine, but is not available on all grabber scripts
- ID - the ID of the title, e.g. IMDb-Id
- Web link - the link to the corresponding web page. You can click the link to view all movie data in your web browser. This is especially useful, if you can't identify a movie otherwise, e.g. because there are two results with same title and year
- Dist - the "Distance" is an indicator how closely the title matches
As of v 6.0.0, a larger cover image displays at the top for the currently selected movie.
If there are many results, you can sort by the columns to better find the movie you're looking for:
AMC Updater offers you the results found with the possibility to:
- Search Internet (or Search IMDb if you enter an IMDb_id) - lookup the web page of the movie results - especially useful, if there have been found multiple results with same movie title and even same year.
- Search again - repeat your search with different options such as when you modify search title name, add or modify the year hint or IMDb ID.
- Ignore - this will ignore the lookup and the movie will be skipped - it will be checked again on next import though.
- Always ignore - this will permanently ignore the movie on imports by adding it to the excluded movies file. You can view or modify your excluded movies file on the Options Tab. Use this option when you have movies that you don't want to add to your catalog
- Cancel grabbing - will cancel the import.
- rename and ignore - will offer you the possibility to rename either the media directory, name or both
Rename and Ignore
When you select rename and ignore the "Rename and Ignore" dialog will display:
You can change either:
- Directory
- Filename
- Both in one step
Depending on the way you identify your movie titles for grabbing, you will normally either change directory or filename only.
Note: The Rename and Ignore Dialog does NOT support renaming of multi-part movies.
The renamed file will be ignored in the current import because AMCU needs to rescan the filename - it will be scanned the next time you run import.
