Media items are usually stored in folders, which are intentionally not taken over by the media library. MediaPortal 2 offers for all media types besides the "Library View" also a "Folder View". Within the folder view mode you may navigate through the media items as you see them in your windows explorer. 

You may create folder images, which are considered as thumbnails in folder view mode. Please store the image within the folder you want to use it for and name it as follows:

  • folder.jpg, folder.jpeg, folder.png


It is not possible to achieve views with all library features in combination with the folder view. All images not named as above will not be considered by the importer. This is especially important for the image library.
