Network access from MP2-Server

Starting with MediaPortal Alpha 2, the MediaPortal 2 - Server runs as Windows service in background.

This new service architecture also brings some new settings for the user to control how it should access network resources (shares). Usually users doesn't need to make changes in MediaPortal2 settings to be able to access network shares.

If your network shares requires username/password you are able to configure this.

Settings

To configure network access of server take a look at: Settings -> Server Settings -> Network credentials

MediaPortal 2 is preconfigured to use the interactive logged on user to access all network shares. This feature should work for all users that are logged on (explorer is running) and if not multiple sessions are active concurrently (which is usually not the case for HTPCs).

If you like to take more control you can specify an user name and password to access all network shares. Note: we do support only one set of credentials for all network resources currently.
