Overview

Media Portal 2 includes several skins and themes in the installation package.

There are more optional skins and themes available in the download section.

Skins

Skins change the visual appearance of Media Portal 2. They can be changed to offer an individual experience to every user.

BlueVision is the default skin after a fresh installation of Media Portal 2, but it can be easily changed in settings. Navigate to settings › apperance › skin › change skin and open the dialog window.

A list with skins, that are included in Media Portal 2 will be shown with preview picture and you can select one.

The standard installation of MediaPortal 2 comes with 4 skins:

Display Aspect Ratios

All skins support different aspect ratios, so contents are not deformed to fit into the screen.

Following aspect ratios are fully supported:

• 16:9
• 16:10
• 21:9
• 32:9

Following aspect ratios are supported with conditions:

• 1:1
• 3:2
• 4:3
• 5:4

In case you are using one of the conditional aspect ratios you might have to apply modifications to the skin.xml to make the skin display correctly. The file is located in the skin folder of your used skin in usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Plugins\{your skin}\Skin\{your skin}\"

Open skin.xml with a text editor.

The content is deformed to fit into the screen now as known from earlier versions of MediaPortal 2.

Themes

Themes are modifications of skins.

To change the theme of a skin, please navigate to settings › apperance › skin › change theme and select a theme from the dialog window.
