Overview
Adding generic support for Human Interface Devices (HID). It should make the configuration and usage of many IR remotes a lot easier.
Description of Change
A new 'HID' tab has been added to our Remote configuration. The former 'General HID' tab has been renamed 'Media'.
Users should be adjusting their remote settings after upgrading their MediaPortal installation. We recommend anyone using an IR remote or a media keyboard to try and switch to this new driver. That includes people previously using 'General HID' and 'Microsoft MCE'.
Note: Make sure you do not enable more than one of the remote drivers unless you know what you are doing. Do not enable both 'HID' and 'Media' for instance.
Note2: Numbers, backspace, ESC, dot, sharp, enter and direction arrows, even when issued from your remote, do not go through the HID handler, they go through the classic keyboard handler, so you want to take a look at your keyboard key mapping rather than your remote key mapping.
Users using SoundGraph devices should use 'Media'. Users using other kind of Windows message emulators software will probably have better results when using 'Media' too.
Advanced users can customize our new 'HID' configuration by editing
Generic-HID.xml
. In theory one should even be able to create a configuration for some game-pads and other devices.
