Overview
How to use Views to display your data by artist, album. genre, year, song, recently added or your own custom views.
Introduction
If you Tag Your Music properly with metadata (ID3) tags, and scan or index your music files into a MediaPortal database, you can then modify, add or remove any of the predefined views - to display the data you want, with the sub levels, or selections, you wish and sorted in the order you like.
Group Views
You may choose to 'group' any view in Configuration > Music Views to display an 'indexed' view. For example, by default the 'Album Artists (Indexed) view is a 'group' view:
You may also display the view in any layout with graphic icons:
Database Views
The following Views are provided with MediaPortal and can be selected using the Switch View menu option::
- Album Artists, Album Artists (indexed), Genres,Artist Tracks, Albums, Albums by Age, Years, Recently Added, Rating, Songs, Favourites or Top 100.
- you can modify these views using Configuration > Music > Music Views
- or select new... and create a whole new view
