Progress Bar
The progress bar is located between the player and function keys. It provides the total duration and the progressed time on top of the indicator.
Mouse users may jump to any position directly by pressing at the targeting position in the progress bar. The current playback position indicator can not be dragged and moved over the timeline with playback.
Playback Current Item
MediaPortal 2 has reserved the bottom right corner to always show the playback controls for the current item independ from which screen you visit. This is a huge advantage for e.g. mouse or tablet users, because they can always control the current playback and toggle back to full screen playback while using MediaPortal 2 elsewhere.
PiP Playback
PiP (Picture in Picture) works with basically all media types. This means, that you can watch / listen to two media sources (audio, video, TV) at once, while one is shown in full screen (primary player) and the other is shown in a small PiP window (secondary player). In case of TV this means, that you can watch 2 channels at once (e.g. so as not to miss when a program restarts after advertisement).
PiP examples with controls
You can switch between the players by selecting the focusable PiP window (remote/mouse/keyboard) or just the the "Red" button (or the button mapped to it) on your remote. To watch the primary player, while listening to the audio of the secondary player, enable (unmute) audio with the mute button on the secondry, audio from the primary player will be automatically muted.
