There is something about scoop
Oh boy,
The team forced me to write something about myself! Since there's not much to tell though my only option is to put up some pictures from myself - which is even more embarrasing! Well here goes...
Seriously, my nick in the forum and on the homepage is scoop, as you know already. On IRC though I'm better known as micheloe or just Michel, which is my first name.
My full name is Michel Otte and I live in the south-eastern part of The Netherlands for 28 years now. In my spare time I love playing freestyle frisbee . In the picture on the right you see me performing a rather simple under -the-leg-catch after performing a series of other moves at the european freestyle frisbee championships in Rome, Italy (more action fotos here). This sport combines very well with outdoor swimming in the summer. I listen to music a lot. I used to create electronic music as well but unfortunately time is running short lately and I'm not that active anymore in producing. You can review my music taste in my online profile at last.fm. This profile of course is maintained using MediaPortal! :-)
In september 2004 I started using MediaPortal for the first time for listening to my music and watching movies. Only much later I started viewing TV with MediaPortal as well. My first contributions to the MediaPortal community exist of just trying to help people in #mediaportal (the main IRC channel).
At the time infinityloop started a forum for test reports, I joined him and started helping out there where I could. Eventually I ended up joining the test team and started to get more familiar with the code base. I ended up joining the development team for some reason and now I'm mainly doing small bugfixes and helping out where I can.
To bring bread to the table I work at a small company which is specialized in Oracle database administration as a DBA. Next to that I do system administration and networking for that company as well, since I started my "career" as a Unix system and network administrator. Computers have always been a part of my life since the birth of the Commodore 64.
Not much left to tell anymore about myself. I hope I did not bore you to death! ;-)
Kind regards,
Michel
