MediaPortal 1.0.2 RELEASED

And here is ... the MediaPortal 1.0.2 patch release!

With this release we fix several (mainly installation related) issues of the 1.0.1 release that sadly slipped through quality assurance.

If you are already using MediaPortal 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 then you can simply use the "update" function to install this release.

End of life for TV-Engine 2

As some of you might know, MediaPortal itself still contains a TV-Engine. This is the legacy component prior to development of TV-Server.

We stopped actively supporting this "inbuilt TV module" more than one year ago and we have been fully focusing the development on the TV-Server.

Based on the results of the survey there are very few users left whouse this legacy tv module. Because of that and the fact that we have more changes planned for 1.1.0 which would require big changes to the old TV code we came to the conclusion that it is about time to remove it from MediaPortal.

This means that MediaPortal 1.0.2 is the last release which contains a fully functional TVE2.

We understand that this is very sad news for some of our users butwe are simply not able to maintain 2 seperate and totally differentTV-Engines.

The 1.1.0 installer will allow you to choose if you want to install MediaPortal with or without TV support.

Vista TV-Pack, Windows 7 and TV-Service

Please be aware that we are currently not supporting installations which contain the Vista TV-Pack, nor Windows 7.

We are already testing a fix for the DVB multitune issue that is affecting these setups. This fix might be part of the 1.1.0 release.
