MP 1.3.0 Beta - The Titan is coming!

A few of you might feel a sweet shiver crawling down your spine after reading that news title.

I am extremely happy to announce that after many months of hard work, MediaPortal 1.3.0 Beta is in final testing! So the release is now very close!

But that is not all!

For a long time we have wanted to enhance the first impression new users have of MediaPortal.  So when Joostzilla and ncoH offered to completely change the face of MediaPortal a few months ago, we eagerly accepted!

You might already have guessed it by now. MediaPortal 1.3.0 Beta will include the highly anticipated Titan skin !

Titan is designed for full HD(1920*1080). The version provided in the 1.3.0 Beta release does not include any support for extensions (TvSeries, MovingPictures, OnlineVideos, ...).

Don't despair! During the installation or update of MediaPortal, you will have the option to install "Titan Extended".  By making use of our powerful MP Extensions system, you can quickly and easily get the latest version of this package and add the required skin files for many of the highly popular extensions. You can also update this package at any time by using the "MP Extensions Installer".

A detailed list of the plugins supported by "Titan Extended" will be available when 1.3.0 Beta is released.

Now let me show you what Titan looks like!

The images below are not mock ups - they are screenshots taken directly from a pre-release 1.3.0 Beta build.

An incredible amount of time has been put into finishing this skin, and smaller changes are still happening as you read this news. So you will surely ask "when will I be able to test Titan!?!?!?!".

In an effort to present you Titan in the best possible way, you have to wait until we release 1.3.0 Beta. There is a lot involved in incorporating Titan into MediaPortal that has to be done right. It is a 'colossal' undertaking and we want to ensure that your first 'meeting' with Titan, is a very pleasant one.
