Overview
Select or change several settings for Slideshow effects, transitions and rotations when using Picture Slideshows in MediaPortal.
Settings
You may also configure these options using the MediaPortal Configuration Tool, see Configuration > Pictures
Select the Slideshow option from the Pictures Settings menu to display the Slideshow settings:
Slideshow Transitions
- Ken Burns effect - Default off - a type of pan-and-scan effect that slowly zooms in and pans as you view the picture
- X-fade transitions - Default on - cross fade transition where one picture fades out as the next fades in
- Random transitions - Default off - alternates the transition effects randomly
Rotation Settings
- Use EXIF for rotation - Exchangeable image file format (EXIF) is a specification for the image file format used by digital cameras. The specification uses the existing JPEG, TIFF Rev. 6.0, and RIFF WAV file formats, with the addition of specific metadata tags. It is not supported in JPEG 2000, PNG, or GIF
- Use Picasa.ini for rotation - if Picasa is installed, you can choose to use the Picasa settings for rotation, as configured in the Picasa.ini file.
Slideshow Settings
- Speed - Default: 3 sec - select how long each picture displays
- Transition time - Default: 15 frames - determine how long the effect lasts, such as the fade between pictures
- Ken Burns speed - Default: 15 - select the speed of pan and scan for Ken Burns effect
- Repeat/loop slideshow - Default: on - the slideshow runs continuously and loops back to the first picture until you exit
- Auto shuffle slideshow - Default: off - displays the images in your slideshow in random order
View Settings
- Group by day - group for each day in date view (instead of showing the full month)
- Enable playing videos - Default=off - e.g. files made with your camera - this option will add video files stored in your pictures folders if the extension is supported under Video Extensions. (Default=off)
- Play videos in slideshows - if you enable playing video files you can choose to play them during a slideshow
