TV Guide Settings
Enable colored buttons in TV EPG
The following image shows how the guide looks with the "Enabled colored buttons in TV EPG" option DISABLED.
As you can see, all guide "cells" are displayed in a uniformed color. There is no distinction between channel identifiers, current, future or past programs. There is also no clear way to identify which channel/ program is currently selected other than reading the text below the grid.
The following image shows how the guide looks with the "Enabled colored buttons in TV EPG" option ENABLED.
With this option enabled, you can clearly see a distinction between programs that are currently airing (highlighted in green) and programs that will be airing in the future (highlighted in grey). The currently selected program is also highlighted a different color (blue) to make navigation easier.
Enable colored genres in TV EPG
This option displays programs using the genre map and color coding that you previously configured in MediaPortal's TV-Server Configuration utility. For information regarding the configuration of the EPG Genre Map please see EPG Genre_Map.
The following image shows an example of how the guide can look once the EPG Genre Map has been configured and the option to display the colored genres has been enabled.
Please note that the "Enabled colored buttons in TV EPG" and "Enable colored genres in TV EPG" options must BOTH be enabled before the colors will be displayed.
Border selected program in TV EPG
This option (as the name suggests) enables (or disables) a border highlight around the currently selected guide item. You can see the border around "Cash in the Attic" in the following screenshot.
This can be particularly useful when navigating the guide with either the "Enabled colored buttons in TV EPG" and/ or "Enable colored genres in TV EPG" options enabled. You can however enable or disable it to suite your own preference regardless of your other configuration choices.
Show genre color map in TV EPG
In the previous screenshots you may have noticed the "genre color map" at the top of the images (see below).
While this is useful for quickly identifying the genre that a particular color is representing, not everyone will want or need this visual aid. Therefore, this option can be used to choose whether or not the color map (or "key") should be displayed.
The following screenshot shows a genre mapped guide with the "color map" option disabled.
